Fleet-Plummer, a family-owned Greensboro business serving the community since 1949, is looking for a Retail Sales Consultant to join our premium outdoor living department. In this role, your day-to-day will be spent on the retail floor—greeting customers, answering questions, and selling everything from high-end grills and outdoor kitchens to beautiful patio furniture and cozy fireplaces.

While much of your day is traditional retail, you will also be our customers' go-to guide for major home investments. When a customer wants to design a custom outdoor kitchen or complete a major patio overhaul, you need the confidence to guide them through a high-ticket purchase, the attention to detail to ensure their measurements are correct, and the ability to confidently close the sale.

What You’ll Do Day-to-Day:

• Retail Excellence: Actively work the sales floor, engaging with walk-in customers and providing the exceptional, friendly service Fleet-Plummer is known for.
• Product Matching: Help customers navigate our selection of premium grills, fireplaces, gas logs, and outdoor furniture to find the perfect fit for their everyday needs.
• Merchandising: Assist in keeping the department looking sharp, maintaining strong merchandising and presentation on the floor.

What You'll Do for Premium Projects:

• High-Ticket Sales: Confidently transition from selling single items to presenting and closing comprehensive, multi-thousand-dollar outdoor projects.
• Consultation & Planning: Work closely with customers (both in-store and occasionally in-home) to evaluate their backyard footprint or fireplace needs.
• Precision & Accuracy: Review basic dimensions and measurements to ensure the cabinetry, refrigeration, and grills you recommend will seamlessly fit the physical constraints of the customer's space.

• Confidence with Premium Products: You aren’t intimidated by high price tags and know how to communicate the value of luxury brands and quality craftsmanship to overcome objections.
• Practical Problem Solving: You should be comfortable reading a tape measure, understanding basic spatial logic, and keeping projects highly organized.

Schedule:

• Full-time position (Hours of operation: 9:30 AM - 6:30 PM).
• Saturdays required.
• Always closed on Sundays.
