Fleet-Plummer, a 76-year-old, family-owned specialty retailer in Greensboro, NC, is seeking a long-term partner to the owner — someone who can sell at a high level in our grills, fireplaces, outdoor kitchens, and outdoor furniture departments, while also overseeing operations and day-to-day retail management.

What You’ll Do

Drive Sales & Customer Experience

• Sell and close high-ticket outdoor products with consultative confidence
  
  
• Manage merchandising and floor presentation for grills, fireplaces, and outdoor furniture
  
  
• Coach and develop staff in your departments to elevate sales performance
  
  

Manage Operations & Warehouse Flow

• Oversee product selection, organization, and floor set ups
  
  
• Ensure accurate stock levels and smooth coordination between sales floor and warehouse
  
  
• Create and manage orders to ensure inventory levels are at optimal levels
  
  

Lead Store Culture & Team Energy

• Set the tone as a visible leader and trusted right hand to the owner
  
  
• Help create a professional, customer-first culture that’s warm, energetic, and high-performing
  
  
• Train, mentor, and inspire staff to grow with the business
  
  

Who You Are

• Retail manager with sales chops — 5+ years in retail leadership and proven ability to sell big-ticket items
  
  
• Closer + operator — equally at home on the sales floor with customers and in the warehouse solving logistics
  
  
• Leader by presence — people naturally follow your tone, professionalism, and drive
  
  
• Long-term mindset — you want to partner with ownership to build something enduring
